No clouds forecast for this weekend, just plenty of sunny weather, a great weekend to get together with family and friends and enjoy some events that Yolo County has to offer.

Saturday April 22                                                                     

Davis

The 103rd Annual Picnic Day at UC Davis.  This family friendly event is FREE for all to come and experience the diversity and achievement at UC Davis.  There will be over 200 events, exhibits, demonstrations, etc all over the campus.  Popular traditional events include a Battle of the Bands, a parade, the Doxie Derby Race and who would want to miss the Cockroach Races!  The Opening Ceremony starts at 9:30 am and festivities continue all day.  For more information go to www.picnicdayucdavis.edu

Davis Farmers Market - 8 am-11 am  - Fresh spring produce, foodstuffs and flowers await you at this weekly event in Central Park in Davis.

Woodland

"Tractors, Trains and Shipwrecks:  Yesterday Recollections of Sonoma County An Art Exhibit and Vintage Tales inspired by author Donald Richardson - now thru May 30 at the California Agriculture Museum in Woodland.  Five regional artists including Sandy Delehanty from Penryn will display following the theme of the featured book "Tractors, Trains and Shipwrecks" .  The book is available for purchase in the gift shop.  For more information go to www.californiaagmuseum.org

Chef Series at The Maples - 11am - 3pm:  Cooking demonstrations and a 3-course lunch paired with Elevation Ten wine, balsamic tasting flight and lunch recipes for guests to take home.  Check out the incredible menu and get more information here:  www.themapleswoodland.com/events.  Cost is $75

Winters

The Palms Playhouse - 13 Main Street:  The Palms will be presenting grammy-nominated bluegrass band "Laurie Lewis & The Right Hands". Get your bluegrass on and head to The Palms!  Show starts at 8pm.  For more info:  www.palmsplayhouse.com

Woodland

The 26th Annual Woodland Rose Garden Tour  - 12pm-5pm - Woodland Public Library - Have you smelled the roses lately?  The rains of the winter and spring seem to have brought on a spectacular array of roses.  Stroll thru beautiful private and public rose gardens.  Delight in an afternoon of roses, music, food and beverage tastings and more.  Each stop features musicians and food tastings of Yolo County produce!  For more information:  www.woodlandroseclublibrary.com and click Events.  Cost is $25

If you are wanting to head out of town for a weekend event Stockton is hosting the annual San Joaquin Asparagus Festival with activities and food, how about asparagus ice cream!  For more information: www.sanqoaquinasparagusfestival.net
